Back To School

It's that time of year already! My husband and I saw this on TV the other night, and laughed pretty good! Let me know what you think of this commercial!

Things I love Thursdays!

A year ago I was in Juarez Mexico, on a missions trip! I love going on Missions Trip, especially to Juarez. A couple lives down there and is reaching out to all of them, they have started several churches there what a great ministry! I would love to go back really soon, hopefully within the next year, I will get another chance to reach out to them!
The pic is from Mexico, we went to someones house to pray for them! These kids were just too cute!

Lazy Sundays...gotta love them!

This past Sunday after Church we had nothing going! Not normal for us...we did nothing but went to Church! We played football, sat around and talked, blogged :), Facebooked with old friends (always fun to catch up with them).

Our youngest can not ride a bike yet, but has a Barbie Jeep which has been out of commission since last summer. We can not find a battery for the jeep someone told us it has a recall on the battery and so they don't have one to fit in it right now. Well Sunday Chloe asked her Dad to get it going, I said Chloe we have no battery, she says "Daddy fix". A little while later in comes Chloe to me "Daddy fix for real" So I went outside to find this: Chloe is in the Barbie Jeep and Jama is standing there wishing she could get in the Jeep also! To cute!


My husband used a battery from his fishing boat to get her Barbie Jeep going! See that big black thing next to her on the floor...yep that is the battery! She was so excited about her jeep working! Thanks honey, for making her happy!

Menu Plan Monday

Let's see if this week I can get back on track with posting! I had a rough week last week, so let's hope I have a better one this week!

Here is our plans for the week:
Monday- Whole Chicken in the crockpot- Corn on the Cob (from our local farmers market), potatoes- bread

Tuesday- Chicken burger (remember last week- well if you ever have a chance to buy Chicken burger, DO IT. They are very good!) Green beans (also from the local farmers market) watermelon

Wednesay- Pasta & Garlic bread

Thursday- Leftovers

Friday- Cookout with family

Saturday- Out with family (either bike riding or to the zoo)

Sunday- Church Carry in Dinner & Baptism! Always a great afternoon!
Will make a salad to take with us.

Looking over my menu and week, it will be another busy week, meetings Tues & Wed evening at Church and then a fun but busy weekend!

So how does your week look...have any new recipies to pass on to me! I'm always looking for quick and easy recipies! My husband is a picky eater, any ideas....

Menu Plan Monday

We had a wonderful time in Chicago, but always great to be home! The kids had a blast without us also, Chloe (my 4 year old) did not want to come home, but she did!

So here is our menu plan for the week. My weekend schedule will probably change since I think my BIL is coming up from Florida for the weekend but not sure yet!

Monday - Chicken & Potatoes (on the grill) Corn & bread

Tuesday- Tacos- Chips & salsa

Wednesday- Pancakes & Sausage (we love Bob Evans original sausage)

Thursday- Chicken Burgers (a guy that works for my husband makes chickenburger will let you know what we think of it!)- watermelon- green beans

Friday- Pizza

Saturday- Out to eat

Sunday- Everyone on their own (unless my BIL is here then I will cook something?)

Weekly Shopping Trip!

I love to save money on my groceries, I shop the sales with the coupons, a great way to save money. We have a family of 5 and my weekly budget is $60.00 a week, that includes everything food, toiletries, etc. I usually shop CVS, Meijer, Kroger and sometimes Wal-Greens!

This week I shopped at Meijer:
Here is what I got 58 Items for a total amount spent of $57.80, or .99 for each item. I like to keep that under a dollar, I just made it this week!


Also got this for free, buy 10 Kellogg products get $10.00 off a backpack, this backpack was priced $7.99 so it was free! My daughter was excited she loves PINK!



I like to stockpile when sales come on, you won't see much meat when we shop at meijer, I shop our local butcher shop, great prices and great meat! I usually go once a month and spend around $30.00 (this is included in the $60 a week, I usually skip shopping one week and just go to the butcher shop) and that meat will last us a month. We also have other meat that we bought in bulk in our freezer that we use alot. Any questions let me know. So how did you do this week?

I was so excited to receive my first product and to be able to do a review on this! I have heard people talk about and was very curious in the Mystic Wonders Complete Laundry System!

So I got my package, my girls were very excited to see the bracelets in the box! There was also several other items in the box besides the laundry ball.
First off The Chapstick I absoletly love... a few days after I received this I was in the sun and my lips got sun burnt, so I used the Chapstick for a few days and they were fine. No chapping whatsoever! They felt smooth and the chapstick did not make my lips feel sticky like some I have tried. (My husband says I am addicted to chapstick so I use a lot of this and have tried lots of different kinds)

Wonder Goat Milk Soap: I used this also and it leaves your skin feeling soft. It also rinses very easily. A great product!

And then the Laundry Ball! It was very strange not putting any soap in the washer, I put the laundry ball in started the washer, add the clothes and that was it! After using the laundry ball for about 2 weeks now, I really like the laundry ball. My clothes look and smell clean. Even my towels (I always think they have a musty smell to them especially in the summer) they smell clean, no musty smell! Dryer Balls- Love it also, no sheets to throw in the dryer! And my clothes are not static when they come out!

K-Mart -Super Doubles!!

K-Mart is doubling coupons this week! I only made one trip this week, I wanted to make two but it didn't happen!

I got all this for $4.xx! I was so excited I got stuff that we needed and will use no problem!

Weekly shopping trip!

For those who may not know... I like to shop with coupons and I match my coupons with the store sales! I like to shop at Meijer and Kroger, my Meijer doubles up to $.50 and my Kroger triples up to $.50. I also like to shop at CVS & Wal-Greens!
So here is what I got on my $60. a week grocery budget!


I spent:
$2.37 at Wal-Greens
$34.36 at Meijers I bought 42 items so that is about $.82 for each item.
$15.00 at our Local Butcher Shop for Hamb & Chicken!
Total of $51.73 I was under budget this week!

I had a rain check on the Quilted Northern from last week, and I got some fruit and vegtables that I did not have coupons for, it was a pretty good week.

Things I Love Thursdays

I don't know how it can be Thursday already...the week is just flying by!

I love homemade cookies! Normally in the summer I don't make cookies in the evening, I usually do it early morning, but since it is cold here..I thought I would make them tonight!


And then of course...we have to have taste testers! My 3 kids and 2 of my nephews and 1 niece were over for the evening! They enjoyed cookies with milk!

Well this is my first week doing Menu Plan Monday! Lets see how I do!

Breakfast

(my family loves cereal so we eat that most mornings, and usually eggs once a week)

Leftovers (a great way to save us money is to eat our leftovers so we don't throw anything away)
PB & J, cottage cheese & crackers
Mac & Cheese w/fruit

Supper
Monday- Pancakes & Sausage (meeting at 5:30 meal has to be quick!)
Tuesday- Pasta, Garlic bread & Salad (another quick one I work & have a meeting at 6)
Wednesday- My Birthday (Hoping Hubby cooks...or out we will see!)
Thursday- Chicken, Hashbrowns, Bread (all done on the grill) Corn, Watermelon
Friday- Pizza on the grill (my mom has a new recipie that she is making pizza on the grill I will let you know how we like it!)
Saturday- Hamb & Hot dog- then off to fireworks Happy 4th of July!
Sunday- Carry in at Church- Will be making Cornflake Potatoes

There is our menu for the week, it will be another busy week, I always wonder where the days go!
